How to do it step by step

There is one screw underneath this panel right in the middle. If you dip your head down near the gear leaver and look up you will see it. Undo the screw then remove the trim.

Trim removed.

The arrows show the location of the next two screws.

You really need to get your head down underneath. They are hidden right up into the dashboard and are silver 10MM bolts with Phillips head screw indentation. Undo these but be careful not to loose them as they drop!
WARNING: You now need to remove the stereo by pulling it forward. Sounds easy but it ISNT! My only advice is, the stereo has 3 pressure clips at the top and 2 on each side of the dashboard/stereo trim.
If your luckly, hold your palms on the heater knobs and pull upwards jiggling with some force to try and free the side pressure clips!
If that fails, you will need to start prising from the top, but be warned, this can lead to surrounding dashboard being possibly damaged.
I didnt take a photo (even though I wish i did) but one tip is to get a push bike brake/gear inner cable and thread it (like dental floss round your teeth) over the top left and top right corner of stereo/dash having prised a small gap with my trim tool, then wrapping the cable round your hand, pull towards you using it like a winch.

If you get luckly like I did and it comes free, you may have a few heater/electrics plugs to undo, then you have access to the screws holding the stereo to the dash panel you just removed!
If you fitting a new stereo, the you can buy the fascia from the main dealer for about £70 and it includes all new stickers for heater controls and such and comes with a DOUBLE DIN apperture meaning you can fit the DD stereos in it.
Disconnect the wiring loom and aerial to release the stereo.
